I just got mine home and unboxed literally minutes ago. I originally ordered mine from Apple Sept. 8th but after hearing BestBuy availibility rumors I called the closest one for me (~45minutes away) and just got back. They had 8 of the 16gb in stock and 4 out of the 5 closest Best Buy's to me (NE Pennsylvania) had both the 8gb and 16gb in stock.
My new 16gb'er is syncing my 5gb of music now... :-D

Congrats on getting the iTouch. I just got the iPhone Monday 9/10/07 to use as a iPod. The reason is the following.
1. Has built in speakers to play at low volumes.
2. Camera for those times to take a picture.
3. Has the phone feature incase I ever sell it or might use it as a phone. I have unlocked my iPhone already. I put a old T-Mobile SIM I had and it shows up.
4. Has bluetooth.
5. Comes with Charger which cost 49.99. (iTouch has no charger)
6. Comes with cradle which cost 29.99. ( iTouch has no cradle)

ATT*Mark why don't you use the iPhone for an iPod and connect to your car stereo? I use mine in the car all the time and don't even have to put in airplane mode. Must be the way my car-link hardware is designed but I very rarely get any kind of interference and buzzing thru the system. It has to be really really cranked to hear any of that at all.
Sounds fantastic - and just as good as my 30GB iPod Video ever did. Only functionality I've lost is I can't fast-forward or reverse tracks thru the car stereo controls. I can skip full tracks forward and backward but not to specific points in songs or podcasts. When the iPhone rings the music fades out and I can answer with my bluetooth.
