iPod Touch Screen Spazzing Out
My friend's iPod Touch keeps spazzing out and the screen will show some weird stuff and it is unresponsive. The only way to turn it off is by holding Home+Lock buttons. What could be wrong with it? It has NOT been jailbroken. I have two pics of the iPod Touch screen that I took with my iPhone.
EDIT: I have managed to put it into DFU mode and have it restoring to iTunes, but it gets stuck at "Preparing iPod for restore..." and gives me a 1604 error.Last edited by SharpieBandit; 02-07-2009 at 11:36 AM.

Obviously, with the second one, he has entered the matrix.

hahaha ^^^ i love the second one. Did he drop it in water or on the ground recently? If it isn't pink inside the headphone jack, take it to Apple and be like WTF. They'll give you a new one.

He has not dropped it in water and the water damage indicator is white, obviously. He has also kept it in a case since he bought it.
Alas, the closest Apple Store is four hours away....
EDIT: BUT... I'll be going to that city next month for state FBLA

When he told me what was happening I was like "Did you jailbreak it?" He goes "What's that mean?". So...yeah. Obviously it hasn't even been attempted to be jailbroken or anything.
Any ideas except returning it? And when I do take it to the Apple Store, what will they do if they aren't able to fix it? I don't see how they could fix it....Gamertag - Scikotic IT Guy

Hmm. From what you've been telling me I'm assuming I don't need the Apple Care Protection plan thing? The regular warranty will cover it? I asked him and he bought it July last year. He has the original case and everything but the receipt if you need to know any of that.

Cool I just checked on the site and it is still under warranty until July 28th :] Looks like I'll be going to the Apple store.
Btw, is it possible to buy refurbished iPhones or iPod Touchs from an Apple Store?Gamertag - Scikotic IT Guy
