ipod touch problem

i seem to be having a problem with my ipod touch and it started a few days ago. i am running 1.1.5 firmware and it is not jialbroken. my problem is that every few days or so the entire library on my ipod gets deleted. then when i plug my ipod into the computer it says, the contents of this ipod cannot be read. then i have to restore the ipod and it works fine for a couple of days. if anyone has an idea on how to fix this please let me. it is also the first gen ipod

DFU restore, not just restore mode, then if it happens again, take it into apple.
