Ipod Touch won't turn on!

Hi there... as the topic says, an iPod touch of a friend of mine is not working.

Its the 1st gen version and its from a friend of mine but i dont know what he did to it.

Here's what it looks like: I can push every button i like (out of the 2) and tried to get into DFU mode sometimes with no success.

The Screen stays black and flashes white for a second like every 3 minutes.

Cant just get it back to the store he got it from because we're livin in germany and he got in from the USA in the holidays half a year ago.

It's a 16 Gig iTouch and im Running Windows 7

(and nope, it doesnt have something to do with Win7 that it doenst work... tried OSX already.)

Hold down home + power for 15 seconds or so to force it into recovery mode. If you can't even get an apple logo to show up that's a bad sign.

already tried to get into DFU... even hold the buttons for 5 mins.... nothin.

u think its messed up?

Well if you follow instructions it's virtually unbreakable. If you can't get an Apple logo that means the bootloader is messed up. This could have happened if the phone died or was forced to reboot during a bootloader flash from Bootneuter. If this wasn't the case then I could only speculate as to the issue. I think it's fried.

Kinda sounds like it could have gotten wet.

alright... thx for your help... but it could definately not have been bootneuter because what cpjr said, its an itouch.

i dont know if it got wet because, well its not mine, and i dont know how it's been treated.... ill ask the dude i got it from tomorrow.

but idk... the screen flahes white every 3 mins so theres got to be some life, doesnt it?

Some life yes.....but depending on what the issue is (especially if it is hardware)....doesnt mean thats necessarily a sign it can be fixed. Well....easily.

Lookinside the headphone jack. if its pink, then it got wet and your done for. if not, then i dont know. im guessing the computer doesnt recognize it at all right?
