Must have free apps

hi, i just got a 2nd gen itouch and i know you cant jailbreak it yet but what apps, preferably free, should i absolutely have?

There are no MUST HAVE apps from the AppStore (even purchasable ones). It depends on what you want and what you're going to do. Just go to the AppStore and browse the Free App section for what you want (or what's popular).

Generally "must have" simply implies that it is so good you are going to want it.


Some freebies I like are:
Shazam
Google Earth
Remote

Not too much put there that is free. Many apps go from free to 99 cents or more after an "intro. period"

Aroundme
Movies
Google mobile app

But you need Wifi active for all of these

thanks guys i wasnt meaning must have as a necessity but more so ones that are cool to have just like for whatever or ones that may be useful

In that case, good apps that will work on an iPod Touch:

Pandora
i.TV (still in development, doesn't have everything promised, like live TV)
Google Earth
Weather Channel (expands greatly on the default weather app)
Units
