I have an itouch which everytime I try to update I get this stupid message. I am running itunes on a HP laptop with Vista ultimate. Yes, I have reinstalled Itunes several times, i have reset/ restored my itouch, i have checked the USB drivers and they say that they are up to date. I also have a nano and classic and they seem to update with no problems. I can't use an earlier version on itunes as I now get the message that the itunes library was created with a later version and cannot read it.

HELP because at the moment all i have is a very expensive paper weight.
