What system are you using to do this? WinPwn, QuickPwn, Pwnage?

If you are on windows you cannot use Pwnage, Its for Mac OSX only.

I probably should know this, but doesn't quickpwn only work for 2.1 if you have previously used WInpwn on a lower firmware? When I got a replacement 2G phone this weekend it had 2.0.2 and I didnt want to upgrade to 2.1 until I jailbroke with winpwn on 2.0.2 first. Then I restored to 2.1 in itunes and then quickpwned. Perhaps I'm recalling what needed to be done with earlier releases of quickpwn, perhaps I'm a bit fuzzy today.

bhz1 - QuickPwn will only work if you've pwned your device beforehand (if I remember correctly), so if you haven't done such, Trizma, do so. You can get an old version of WinPwn to simply pwn you device, then you can run QuickPwn and see if that works.

Yeah you have to pwn your device beforehand, otherwise it won't work.

Good, I was right then. Thank goodness I remembered that before I upgraded the kid's replacement 2.02 to 2.1.

Did you select the options for those to be installed on the device? When and where did you download this from? Perhaps try re-downloading then reinstalling the software and re-jailbreak. From where did you select the firmware to jailbreak the device (did you download a new one then select it or did you go to where iTunes downloads such things and select that)?

You are shift+clicking on restore and selecting the CUSTOM firmware, not the LEGIT firmware, right? I know, basic, but hey, you never know...
