I am trying to get the iPhone music settings on my Touch WITHOUT the activation.
After some trial and error I came up with this:
I was thinking of just switching the two preference bundles names.
So...
In my SFTP client
I navigated to "/System/Library/PreferenceBundles".
Tried to rename the file "iPodSettings.bundle" to "MusicSettings.bundle" but it would not let me rename either of them to anything.
So I took it to the MobileFinder app on my Touch
I found the same path and tried renaming "iPodSettings.bundle" to "MusicSetting.bundle" and I'm not really sure what happend next.
All I know is that it ended up just erasing the "iPodSettings.bundle" and keeping the "MusicSettings.bundle".
I did not think anything would or even could happen to the bundles themselves so I did not make backups.
So that is what I need the "iPodSettings.bundle" from "/System/Library/PreferenceBundles"
Also... Any thoughts on how to get the iPhone music settings without the activation would be helpful.
There's a file in Cydia called switcher that sets it just like an iphone. Is that what you want. And I'm pretty sure a full restore is the only way to get that back.
I have tried that app (its Transformer) and I cannot get it to just give me the iPhone music player SETTINGS without the activation part. I did try editing some property list files in "/System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app" that transformer edits.
(just to let you know I do know quite a bit about this stuff)
I really actually don't need the file at all for my iPod to run correctly I just want it so I can see if I can switch out the MobileMusicPlayer's and the MobileiPod's preference pane .bundle files so it will load the preferences that are on the iPhone because the ones on the iPod are not as good.
EDIT: I do not want to have to do a full restore because in the past two weeks my iPod's screen broke so I had to send it in and reload all of the stuff back onto it and then I accidentally tried using bosstool when I didnt have enough space left on my user partition to copy over fonts so it bricked and I had to restore it again. So if I could just get the file that would be great. From some one, anyone at all... its "/System/Library/PreferenceBundles/MusicSettings.bundle".
