Im pretty sure if you plug in your iPod in iTunes and click update, it will update without losing your music. It if you jailbreak it, then you will have to resync it.

Nope. You have to delete everything. If your data is not on your computer use Senuti to transfer music from your iPod to computer.

You don't need Senuti or whatever. Just plug in your ipod in and hit transfer.
