Can't restore my ipod

i insert my ipod and press restore but after 5 minutes of attempting to restore it it says error cant restore. tried it 10 times changed usb cords, restarting computer and uninstalling itunes. Help?

you have to go into DFU. Plug it in to your comp. Turn off your iPod. Press and hold home and sleep for EXACTLY ten seconds. Then release sleep and keep holding home. Your screen should stay black. iTunes sshould say it found an iPod in restore mode. Then restore.
