iPod stuck at apple logo and spinning wheel of death

Ok after attempting to restore the iPod to 2.0, iTunes just blaffed out an error (1604) and now the iPod is stuck on the Apple logo and the spinning wheel of death!

It's not recognized by iTunes and I can't turn it off using (Home + Power), I even tried iLiberty and ZiPhone to jump out of restore mode, but both say that the iPod is in restore mode and iTunes is restoring it.

Any ideas?

EDIT: Okay I shut it off now, it was the goddamn home button.

Put it into DFU mode. Search for the instructions. And how did you shut it off using the home button
