Default Will voip now work on ipod touch with speaker and mic

    Hi,

With the advent of a new ipod touch with built in speaker and headphones that have a mic built in will truphone or other types of voip be fully functional? I have truphone running well on my touch, I can make calls but obviously I cannot be heard the other end. So will the new headphones from Apple with the built in mic change all this?

We don't know, we'll have to wait and see what comes of this. It would be nice, but it can only be guessed at.

You think apple with regret putting a speaker on the new touch, since now people could turn it into an iphone by getting a mic, and free text messaging app

    In a word: No.

Apple's been pretty consistent about not making moves they "regret"...that runs completely contrary to how Steve Jobs thinks.

PLEASE click everyone's "Thanks" buttons...they are begging for it.

Well, it apparently (the touch) has a bluetooth chip, that doesn't mean it's necessarily enabled. Source (go to page 4 for the bluetooth chip mention)
