itouch useable in a OTB 1.1.3 iphone

hi i am planning to go to NY in 2 days, and i will probably buy an iphone wich will be the latest versionby now, no my question, can i use the itouch in the iphone ? and then when the iphone is all ok to be used as a phone, some say that the iphone has to be jailbreaked to be used as a itouch some say no you can use is traight away. now what ? and can a new iphone OTB 1.1.3 already being jailbreaked so i can use it ?i have no idea more what can and what can't

huh this is a ipod touch forum, not a iphone, the ipod touch will never be an iphone

It's pretty easy to turn ur iPod touch into an iPhone, but it's dumb at the same time, because IT'S NOT A PHONE!!

i think what he is asking is, if he can use his iphone as the itouch before he gets his phone plan and everything set up. Like can he listen to music and everything, just not make calls. Im not sure as i do not own an iphone though.
