New video decoders...?

In //System/Library/VideoDecoders, there are the files H264H1.videodecoder and MP4VH1.videodecoder, which I'm assuming are the codecs for the iPod. Would it be possible to add other codecs, i.e. DivX, to the iPod?

I searched Google and didn't find anything on this.

thatd be cool to have avi and divx and such..
maybe there are some on osx that would work on ipod touch...i dont own a mac so i dont know anything about this kind of thing
