Help! iPod touch got wet...Gone for good?

my sis' ipod touch got drenched when her place caught major fire is there no hope? we haven't tried turning the unit on...can i try to dry? she's feeling so bad, i hope i can help her even just a little by trying to do anything i can for her. And how do i know when it's just no use even for repair? any help would be great guys. thanks so much in advance.

personally i would leave it out to dry on its own for a day or two then turn it on

if you have an airing cupboard or something thats constantly warm and dry, leave it in there for a day or so.

If you are going to get it repaired to Apple, it will cost you some big money, $150 to be exact. Look down your headphone jack, if it is red down there, then you have some big a-- water damage. Good luck.

Just give it time to dry. If it doesn't turn on the battery might be dead now. Wouldn't warranty protect against something like that? It's protected by accidental damage right? And it getting wet while a fire is being put out isn't really doing it on purpose I guess. I figure they would at least repair it as a courtesy or something because of all the other damage to the building and stuff.

If it gets wet, no. I went to the Apple Store and I had to pay to get my iPod replaced. $150 man...
