i was using ziphone 3.0 trying to jailbreak my ipod touch and when it was doing its thing it froze on the white text part and itunes cant recongnize it so i cant restore it or i cant do anything with it right now please help my email is wut0dey0do@aol.com

its an ipod and when i hold down the power button and the homescreen button it restarts but it just goes back to the white text

What you need to try and do is hold the power button and home button until the phone powers off. Then continue to hold the home button and let go of power. Plug into iTunes and hopefully it will register in restore mode and let you restore. This is called DFU restore mode by the way.

i tried that and the white text just appears again

The phone should not turn back on by itself if you power it off. Boot the phone... then hold the power+home till it shuts off. Immediately let go of the power button so it doesn't power back on and continue to hold the home button.

when I do that the iPod just stays off and nothing happents while I'm holding down the home button

Power off then plug in your USB cable. It should start to boot. As soon as it does, hold the home button. That should get you into restore mode so you can...well restore. Hope that helps.

That is correct. The screen should be black. When you plug it into iTunes while holding the home button it should come up as restore mode after 10-15 seconds.

Simplest fix, hold power/lock and home button until the iTunes logo appears.
