hey guys, im an australian, and im just going to go buy a new iphone now. Im planning on modding it, but i just need information on activation.

1) Im happy to use AT&T and dont want to use another service provider - so....
Does this mean that I should activate my Iphone, are the only people who dont activate the iphone want to use it with another Provider

2) if i do activate it, can i than hack it to install programs (is that the same hack to install a different sim in it as well)

if you could leave a yahoo IM address or email, that would be great.

do u live here in the state? yea u can sign up with att if u dont mind having the iphone plan and the 2 years contract. yea u can still mod your phone with 3rd party

yeah i live here in the states. in San Fran.
So as soon as you activate have you committed ot a 2 year contract

yea if u sign up with att u will have to stay with them for 2 years and with the iphone plan which is going to be a lot

ok, so can i still get a data plan? without going through activation process?
also can i set the phone back to the original and go through activation if i change my mind
