Don’t point your host file to cydia.
    Don’t use Tiny umbrella.
    Put iPod into recovery mode.
Hit restore to take you to 3.1.3

Hi, have you tried editing hosts file and removing the gs.apple.com line?

Edit: just saw the post above me.

Thanks guys for the suggestions but i have done way more than that let me start from the beginning :/

Ok first the ipod was turning on ok, but when i connected to itunes it says it could not be activated and have to take it to the apple store, thats all it said, no numbered errors or nothing...

I went to check in settings/general/about and i could not see the serial number for the ipod: weird???

Then my problems start happening: put it in recovery mode, "the usb with the itunes logo" connected to itunes and did an itunes restore "no shift+click" itunes downloaded the ipsw and went with process, then it showed error "1604" and the ipod was stuck at the apple logo...

From there i cannot restore it, not turn it on anymore, and cant put it in recovery mode "usb with itunes logo"

Have try tinyumbrella to see if i could kick it out of recovery but tinyumbrella does not see my ipod...

have tried iReb-r5 and do a "shift+click" then browse for the latest ipsw "3.1.3" and get the same "1604"

Have tried iboot doing this procedure:
    http://www.ifans.com/forums/showthre...ght=1604+error

After running this command: irecovery -f ibss211.dfu : the instructions says to disconnect the ipod then connect and that the screen should turn white; im unable to do that, so i did a workaround, started an itunes restore and when the ipod gets to the white screen i unplugged then closed itunes, that way now i can run the rest of the commands and i get this:

    CUsers\gitano7\Desktop\iBoot>irecovery -f ibss211.dfu

    iRecovery - Recovery Utility
    by wEsTbAeR-- and Tom3q

    Got USB
    (Recovery) iPhone$ go
    Memory image not valid
    (Recovery) iPhone$ /exit
    Closing USB connection...

By the instructions the ipod should turn on and go to the home screen, but the screen stays on "white"

Notice that there's two "Memory image not valid" twice...

At the botton of this instructions reads:
Credits: MuscleNerd for walking me through fixing this problem

So it must be a good guide :/

I mean i have tried a lot of things, and dont know what else do...

Do you think the battery is bad?? or the motherboard is fried?? Can ipod 1G be brick???

I mean it was at least turning on before i tried to restore with itunes but now not even that...

    More Suggestions???
