    Default iPod water damage
ok guys I have a friends iPod 3rd generation that had some slight water damage. it turns on just fine then comes to the connect to iTunes screen but iTunes can't use the iPod because it's password locked. but it never gets to a screen to be able to enter the password. can anyone tell me how to get off this screen. home and power do not work. because as soon as you let go of the power button it goes back to the iTunes connect screen. any help is awesome. thanks in advance

all you should have to do is plug it into itunes and follow the itunes prompts.

that's a /should/, water damage may be causing it to act weird amd thus you may just need to restore and pray that fixes it

    dfu mode

Hold Power and Home button together for 10 seconds
let go of power button but keep holding home button till itunes recognizes it

p.s. you will have a black screen and also the phone has to plugged into the computer for it to go to dfu mode.

Or you keep doing it until it works. This is what happened to my friend's iPod because his sleep button barely worked.
Keep trying. It will work eventually.
