iPod water damage
ok guys I have a friends iPod 3rd generation that had some slight water damage. it turns on just fine then comes to the connect to iTunes screen but iTunes can't use the iPod because it's password locked. but it never gets to a screen to be able to enter the password. can anyone tell me how to get off this screen. home and power do not work. because as soon as you let go of the power button it goes back to the iTunes connect screen. any help is awesome. thanks in advance

all you should have to do is plug it into itunes and follow the itunes prompts.
that's a /should/, water damage may be causing it to act weird amd thus you may just need to restore and pray that fixes it

the problem is that when iTunes recognises it. I get a message saying this iPod is password locked and cannot be used on iTunes but it never takes me to a screen to enter the password how do I get around this

if that happens your doing it wrong or your device has a broken button

Or you keep doing it until it works. This is what happened to my friend's iPod because his sleep button barely worked.
Keep trying. It will work eventually.

bad luck , the screen can not display password? maybe the display had been damaged by water and should be relpaced.
