HELP! iPod Crash!

Hey guys, so today my mom borrowed an iPod Touch from her friend (I'm not sure of the Generation or firmware), but she did some random stuff on it and it eventually broke or something.

I cannot go into DFU or recovery mode and it cannot turn on.

When I try to turn it on, it loads for a little and then just crashes at the bootlogo. It does not give me time to go in other modes.

Please HELP!

I don't want my mom to have to buy a new one.

What exactly did she do?
And it won't go into dfu mode? Very strange... Does recovery mode work?
