3rd Gen iPod Touch says to connect to iTunes
My GF has an ipod touch that the only thing it will do now is show the connect to itunes screen.
I have tried a few things on this and other sites like using irecovery -s.
I am trying to NOT have itunes recover this ipod back to factory. there is no backup of the ipod available that HD died.
My GF has NO IDEA of what caused it to all of the sudden go to this screen but for the life of me I can't get out of it.
I would love to be able to get into the ipod again and be able to make itunes back it up or even be able to get access to the actual ipod file structure. That way I could get a list of apps out of it that can be reinstalled and also be able to pull data from apps that are on there like ifillup and a few other apps that she has a lot of information entered into that can't be reproduced.
The iPod touch is on 3.1.2 with the version file modded to read as 3.1.3 (7D11)
It IS a MC model ipod touch
It was jail broken using sprit if I remember correctly.
I have tried the lib usb options on windows xp/7/vista all to no avail...
I have had no luck trying pwntool or whatever it was called, and I don't think that would of helped anyhow...
Can anyone assist me in getting this back up and running without a full restore?

Why don't you want to restore it? It will get rid of the bug that's causing the crash, and you can just guess what apps were on it
