Default iPod touch 2G doesn't stay in DFU mode
I've been trying to restore my ipod all day today (originally with the purpose of downgrading it) and I have been unable to.

I choose the ipsw file, it unpackages the file and then it goes on to prepare the device for restoration.

At this point the screen of the ipod goes white for some 10 seconds and turns black again. Right after the ipod reboots and just turns on (first it shows the apple logo for a bit and then the lock screen). Eventually itunes gives me a 1600, 1601 or a 1602 error.

This happens with any firmware I try to restore to, including 4.0 which is what I have on the ipod now.
I've tried also downgrading itunes to 8.0, with the same results.

So I have no idea what to do at this point.

Ahh I must get more details, is this iPod Touch on 4.0 and your trying to downgrade to 3.x.x?

I would also think something is wrong with the recovery mode itself, maybe.
