    Default Warranty...
So, I have some water damage on my iPod Touch...it doesn't seem to be severe, but the whole thing is blacked out, and after I tried soaking it in rice for a week it still wouldn't boot. Should I try to disassemble and fix it myself? Though that would ruin the warranty, I was wondering how Apple could confirm with the fact that you've disassembled it. If not, should I bother paying for repairs?

Well that's obvious. What if it was in a case where it wasn't water damaged?

Unless you have electronic repair experience I would not take it apart, just take it in for repairs, if apple can't fix it they will buy it from you and put that money as a credit for a new iPod
