Water Damaged iPod Touch ~Help~

Ok, so I went swimming at my friends pool and a couple of my friends pushed me into the pool with my iPod still inside. I heard about people putting it in uncooked rice, so I tried that, I left in it for 3 days. I turned it on and the power button worked, the volume button worked, and the home button worked. The thing is, the touch screen WON'T work, does anyone know how to fix it or how to cover up the red sensor bar if i send it in to the apple store?

Thanks!

You can fix it by replacing the part. The digitizer is toast.

And nobody's gonna help you screw Apple.

send it to your local apple store. they will fix it or give you a new one.

BE CARFUL- IF THE IPOD IS JAILBROKEN...Apple might do something about it.

My advice- If the screen doesnt work but the functions still do, try to restore it via itunes, then bring it to apple.

If it wont work, then...go to the apple store

If it has water damage, Apple will not replace it.
And they're not going to do anything if it's jailbroken, they'll just give it back to you.

But then what would be the point of giving it to apple? >.>

fix it? how. they wouild need to take the enitire thing apart. afterwards, they will check it see if its working. If it has jailbroken lock screen...
They might do something.

EDIT

I just read about jailbreaking and how apple can sue you

It is legal, For now. Apple is trying to change the goverments mind on jailbreaking.

If it has water damage - there IS no point. Water damage voids your warranty!
First thing they check is for water damage. It is taken much more seriously than jailbreaking/unlocking.

It is illeagal because jailbreaking VOIDS your warrenty.

So your in a pickel -_-

Edit- Link- **Internal Linking (Threads) **Internal Linking (Threads)
Unless you restore it before you bring it in, it will be counted as a VOID warrenty.
