Major iTunes Restoring problem - HELP
|
Okay so I downloaded the final 3.0 firmware, updated to iTunes 8.2 and shift+click restored to it. And, of course, there were alot of bugs and I need my iPod for a trip I'm taking tomorrow so I decided to downgrade from 3.0 to 2.2.1. So I connected my iPod and shift+click restore on the 2.2.1 for my iPod. And it said that it couldn't restore blah blah blah and the connect to iTunes screen is stuck on my iPod. So I thought I would at least run 3.0 so I connected my iPod and this is what happened:
I plug in my iPod and iTunes says:
"Contacting the iPod update server..."
Then:
"The iPod software update server could not be contacted. The server does not support this version of iTunes."
I updated my iTunes through the official Apple update. And I had no problems restoring to 3.0. I am running Windows XP and have a iPod Touch 1G.
I tried restoring on my other computer on iTunes 8.1.1 and the same thing happened. help
