Rockbox?

I'm new to this stuff and wondering what is rockbox?

I think it's just let's you have themes and a couple of other cool things but I think it only works on the iPod classic because this is the only one you can put into hard disk mode (from what I know)

Pretty much what B3N said, but it can also play more types of media files and has some pretty nifty plugins like a gameboy emulator among other stuff.
