Leaked Component Image Suggests 6th iGen Pod touch in the Works
A new image leaked to Letem Svetem Applem on Thursday reportedly shows a component built for the 6th generation iPod touch.
If the image is legitimate, it could suggest a looming refresh for the least in-demand of iDevices today.
For now, there are no juicy details - or concrete information of any sort - emerging along with the photo that was first shared on the European tech blog. But we are told that the shot portrays a flex cable that will be used to produce the 6th-gen iPod touch.
Unfortunately, this image provides too little upon which to base an accurate estimation as to what the 6th-gen iPod touch may deliver in terms of hardware upgrades. However, if Apple's past is any indication of its future, the next iPod touch may offer some of the components found inside of the current iPhone.
Although the iPod touch enjoyed a fairly comprehensive redesign just last year, Apple doesn't appear poised to put the iPod touch on the back-burner for all of 2013. The rumor mill is clearly pointing to a late summer or early fall refresh.

Good to know..I don't see why they would ever get rid of the iTouch. It still outsells any other mp3 player.

So if they get a make a new iPod touch, will they skip the 5S version of the iPhone like it was rumored a couple months back and go straight to a redesigned 6? Or stay with the same design and just bump up internals on both and call then both the 5S versions?

These types of components are the most boring leaks. We may as well be looking at a crayon drawing
Still, good to know work continues on the iPod Touch line - it's an amazing little machine!
