iPod Nano Sports SanDisk Memory Instead of Toshiba

The new iPod Nano 7th generation apparently does have a slight hardware difference from the previous model.
The new iPod Nano 7th generation came along as a refresh with the iPhone 4S announcement on Tuesday at Apple's, "Let's Talk iPhone" event. The new iPod Nano looks like a complete replica of the iPod Nano 6th generation. For the most part - it is. The software update from Apple for the iPod Nano (1.2) brings 7th generation icons to the 6th generation iPod Nano along with some new clock faces. The update almost brings the 6th generation to the same page as the 7th generation iPod Nano.
Perhaps one of the only differences that tinkerers have found, is that the new iPod Nano sports a SanDisk branded NAND flash memory module instead of the usual Toshiba memory module. Below is a picture showing the difference, Toshiba (6th generation) on the left, and SanDisk (7th generation) on the right:

There are a couple more differences, for one, the new 7th generation iPod Nano doesn't need the added devices for Nike's exercise integration. Everything you need is built in. For the 6th generation iPod Nano you used to need to buy those materials separately. No other major hardware changes have been discovered.
EDIT: I would like to add, that just late yesterday, iFixit discovered a newer processor as well.

I hope the new software allows you to change your wallpaper to something else other than the default wallpapers.

I once prayed to God for an iPhone, but quickly found out He didn't work that way...so I stole an iPhone and prayed for His forgiveness.

My 6th Gen Nano with the update work's flawlessly with the nike + app and no other attachment's...
I have not found anything the 7th gen can do that the 6th can't.
I clocked 8,000 pases yesterday

I find a new supplier of NAND chips (and a slightly different logic board layout) not enough to constitute a "new" device, to be frank. Also, I'm not seeing a separate build of firmware for any new iPod nanos at phobos.apple.com. My gut tells me the layout and labeling of chips changed slightly, but nothing else has. Kinda like different models of iOS devices (e.g., the iPod touch 2G--except that had more changes to it, probably).
