My dad has like 6,000 songs and I definitely wouldn't put all of them on my iPod even if they were free and I had the space. I have yet to get one of the free singles from iTunes.

Well, I currently have a collection of 535 songs on my iPhone. I don't pirate... On my computer, there's another 700 or so songs that didn't make it to my phone.

Organising it all, and deciding on which ones to have with me all the time is a pain in the rear.

You really should give the free singles a chance. Did you know that my copy of Fireflies by Owl City was a free single of the week download? I had it before it hit the radio in a big way. Now, that may not be your type of music, but they feature all kinds of music, so eventually you'll find one you like... Unless you only like old music, and can't stand finding new sounds for your collection.

I do agree tho, 220gb for music seems quite extreme. I listen to all kinds of music, and have favourites from every genre... Still can't imagine having 55,000 songs. MAYBE by the time I'm 80, but that's 52 years away!

640gb in my MacBook and then two 1 TB externals.

Also, there are a lot of people that prefer higher quality sound. 128kbps is horrible, anything under 256 is noticably of a lesser quality. I know a few people who will only deal with flac files and others of that calibre. Even with simple 320kbps the size adds up real fast.

I think people get to carried away with the quality of music (lol I mean bitrate and FLAC), as well as saying "I have a huge variety of music, it's just I have 3,000 songs I don't really like".
I actually did download this week's "Discovery Download", it's kinda decent.

this would be nice, maybe the price could be dropped a little more too, would be nice to keep in your car with everything you have and connect to a double din screen deck that way you can everything that you have on your computer
