had a first gen ipod touch since launch day and was going to update to a 3rd gen 4 months ago but glad i waited i will be buying the 64gb as soon as available.
This has just completely convinced me not to bother with an iphone 4 now, i have a sony ericsson that does the job of calling and texting and the new ipod touch 4g will do everything else and save me a huge chunk of cash. Spot on.

One of, if not the most feature I use on my iPhone 4 is gps... So many apps require this, and I couldn't live without it.
So for all u people who say screw the iPhone 4, get a crappy phone and a new touch....u would really be missing out on all the gps, location data features.El Zurdo

No upgrade in storage size = No upgrade for me.

So is the 3rd generation iPod discontinued? I was hoping to get one for my daughter's birthday, looking forward to price reductions on older models.

I'm going to wait until they have one of those back to school specials where I can get one free with a MacBook.

The Retina display includes LED backlighting and an ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts the brightness of the screen for the best viewing and battery life possible. So you can focus on more important things. Like destroying aliens.
The LED refers to the backlight on the screen
