I don't see anything is wrong with that. Iphone is not available for Sprint user. People brought songs on Itunes they should be able to transfer it to any devices.

It's sad to read some of the comments here. If it was Microsoft restricting their media player, everyone would be crying foul, whining about how Microsoft is such a big bad monopoly. But get a bunch of Apple fanboys on this site and all of a sudden it's totally ok for Apple to do that. iTunes is the default music program on Macs. If they want to restrict it and lock it down, I say they should have to provide an alternative or not have it pre-installed in the first place, same as how Microsoft had to decouple Internet Explorer all those years ago.

let's accept Pre as our little brother.
We all might have to shift to Pre on the event of the end of JB iPhone. No JB means No iPhone.

Pre needs to learn to get their own media player. They are messing with jailbreaking and makes want to chuck the Pre to the ground or shoot it. Piece of cell phone crap.

What's really funny to me is that Apple is so uptight and near ridiculous about other companies using their software for legitimate reasons (albeit to support Apple's own competition), yet they seem totally fine with allowing jailbroken phones to sync and even allow custom firmware updates to be installed by Apple's own stock method.
Maybe they finally realize that jailbreaking has brought some of the best iPhone developers out of the woodwork, and they're just not ready to COMPLETELY give that up yet...

I don't believe that Apple has any legal remedy against Palm for this work-around. Software companies generally cannot control how consumers that have a valid license--or third parties--may use software. See Lewis Galoob Toys, Inc. v. Nintendo of America, Inc.
In addition, the USB-IF does not have any legal authority, and as such, the rules and regulations established by the USB-IF are not legislative and cannot give rise to a cause of action in a court of law.

This is funny, the unofficial cat and mouse game of Apple and Palm.

I have the Pre. I dont use iTunes. I just create a folder for music and a folder for pictures and drag both folder in the USB mode. Done.

Palm is wrong in so many levels
Apple should do whatever it pleases with there software. Apple put the time and work in to make iTunes what it is today, and to have a competitor use it without permission is wrong.
