iPod Classic to get Camera?

image of new iPod Touch camera, no images of the iPod Classic camera have been leaked
A recent - spread like fire - report by Digitimes claims that Omnivision, one of the suppliers for CMOS image sensors in the iPhone 3GS will be supplying new 3.2 megapixels CMOS image sensors for next iPod line-up as well!
The rumor about iPod Touch and iPod Nano with camera is not much new right? In fact, some photos of a prototype iPod Touch were leaked recently confirming that Apple is really testing the option. This new report confirms even an iPod classic with camera is in works! This obviously won't revive the dying line-up though which has lost it's market to the Flash technology but would be a nice effort to keep it going.OmniVision will be the sole supplier of 3.2-megapixel CIS products for new iPod nano, iPod classic and iPod Touch models which will be launched in September, the sources indicated.
The company is expected to ship 18 million devices quarterly to Apple, not bad!

I don't know about that, a couple months ago my brother was asking me which iPod he should buy, and when I recommended the iPod Touch he said he'd rather not have a touchscreen so the iPod Classic was the only choice so there just might be a market for the Classic still.

I agree that there is a market for it but you don't name something the classic and then update it with new features

I personally don't really like the iPod in the iPhone.
I always feel sorry for the guy in the iPhone commercials. He always gets a call right in the middle of trying to do something

I'm with A.T. I still have my 80GB iPod Video and it's great. Good Capacity, easy and fast to use. I actually don't have a single song loaded onto my 3GS. I just use Simplify, Pocket Tunes, and Pandora.

Yeah. I use it occasionally but the iPod is probably the least used "main" feature of the iPhone.

classic is the best iPod imo., easy to use and simple and does what its meant to with no gimmicks. i use a 30gb in-car and tried to use my iPhone instead one day and hated it.. one hand control for music is where its at!
not in my app store for some reason- also i heard you have to subscribe at $10 a month?Last edited by SL4VE; 08-27-2009 at 04:33 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost
