Apple Sept 9th Event All About the iPod + iTunes 9

According to a report, AppleInsider has confirmed that Apple's event planned for September 9th is going to concentrate heavily on new iPod releases.

First up is the new iPod Touch expected to have a camera and be priced around 16/32/64 GB for $199/299/399. Following the trend of throwing cameras into everything Apple is also expected to announce a new iPod Nano also sporting a camera which was rumored back in May.

iTunes 9 is on the docket as well and expected to be a major upgrade. It is still unclear about what features are actually inside iTunes 9. So far the list of rumored upgrades include Facebook integration, additional device support (not gonna happen), Blu-ray support, and better app integration (read Last.FM).

There is no confirmed location for the event yet as Apple typically notifies press and analysts about a week prior, the two probable locations are the Moscone Center and the Yerba Buena Center both located in San Francisco.

probably not at all unless itunes 9 has some nastiness built in. The new iPod Touch will likely need to have the devs take a look to provide a solid jailbreak.

Will this have new hardware like the iPod touch 2g. So we may have to wait until one of the dev-teams can make a jailbreak for it? I know it will have new hardware and probably be faster but will it still be un-jailbreakable?

This will be new hardware and new security. Not only will it be awhile before its jailbroken, they may want to wait and save the exploit for the next iPhone release.
