so i called apple, they ended up sending me a brand new one, I tried my wifi with it on 2.2.1 and it worked perfect, i got the official 3.0 update from apple, and it stop working again! I found a forum on apple, and i guess hundreds of people are having the same issue when upgrading to 3.0. the weirdest part is the fact that it works everywhere else besides my house, which is the same for all the hundreds of people in the apple forum. so i know its not my internet. im wondering what then is the problem?

Don't install icy while jailbreaking with redsn0w.
It will cause some problems, but i think it's possible to install it after the jailbreak

I have just purchased an iPod 8GB with 3.0
I have been trying to jailbreak it using redsn0w 0.7.2
After downloading and upzipping it I ran it.
Redsn0w browses, identifies IPSW and starts "Preparing jailbreaking data"
It says 'connecting to server'. After one 'bar' a message flashes something like 'downloading DFU' and nothing happens. At this time iPod is not connected to Windows (XP) PC. Next I connected iPod and repeated. Again similar activity a message flases and then nothing happens.

According to the tutorial the next step says 'Select to install Cydia..." but I have not reached there as yet. Any suggession what is wrong?

I don't know if this is normal but I got to the "waiting for reboot" part and it hasnt done anything else..I've been waiting about 10 mins I think.

Im an iPhone person but my little brother and sister just got 2g iTouches. Is apple signing off on the fw3.0 for itouches still? I know they are not for fw3.0 on iphones. Just want to make sure if I update to 3.0 it does not force me to update to 3.1.1 then be un-jailbreakable. Currently the iTouches are at 2.2.1 & I run Windows.

I have a problem
Redsnow works perfectly, i followed the steps well...but at the last stage when it says 'done', the screen of my ipod touch 2g stays black. So i restarted my ipod and did it all over agin. Still the same problem.

Pls help!
I have iTunes 9 btw

i think it skipped the part where it uploads the ramdisk and the kernel.
Why is that???
