I have an IPod touch 2G on one the beta 3.0 and it's still working fine. I don't think I'm going to pay $10 just to upgrade it.

Updated to 3.0 with iTunes 8.2
Started redsn0w 0.7.1
Did everything but it was stuck at "Waiting for reboot" so I hit Cancel and did everything from beginning again and it worked on the 2nd time.
Hope it helps..

From top.. Help > About iTunes
And I guess you must have 8.2 in order to upgrade/restore to 3.0

I have Windows 7. And it gets stuck at Waitning for reboot. I don't really know what to do? Should I just give up or has anybody had luck with it on Windows 7?
Haha, no worries, I fixed it.
If anyones on Windows 7, it works.
I just held down the home button a little longer. I don't know if that's what made it work but it works. I think. My iPod is still one "Downloading Jailbreak Data..."
Just try over and over again I guess?Last edited by TreoTra93; 06-21-2009 at 05:36 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

This is for anyone that is having problems finding their ispw folder after updating to 3.0 software for vista or xp.
Using XP or Vista. you need to open "My Computer"
XP - go to the top menu and slect options > Folder Options
Vista - Top left button that says Organize > Folder and Search Options
In that window you need to click the " VIEW " tab on top.
NEED TO SELECT
" SHOW HIDEN FILES AND FOLDERS "
Then unclick the option to " hide protected operating system files "
Once that's done click "apply" then ok and exit out of the window.
then go to this dir
users > "USERNAME" > appdata > roaming > apple computer > itunes >
and the folder holding the downloaded file will be there

Haha, I think I also got the firmware for free? But I'm not sure. I never had to login or anything to my account so I don't think I paid. awesome

I jailbroke my ipod 1G to 3.0 but when i enter the app store to download any apps i previously paid for, i.e. Y! Fan Pro, it lists the price and then Buy Now. I logged in to the same account i used for the previous firmware before entering the app store
Also if I can't re-download those apps without having to pay for them, can I hit restore and bring it back to my previous firmware? I backed-up before I went to 3.0 but don't know where iTunes saves the back up file
