Apple Back to School Special 2009?
An anonymous source of ours out of Apple lets us know inventory is being stockpiled on 8GB iPod Touches and Canon printers. They've confirmed they're for the upcoming Apple Back to School special (which Apple typically does the first week of June all the way through August).
Generally the deals are a free iPod or printer with purchase of any Mac - looks like this year that'll be upgraded to an 8GB iPod Touch!
We have been getting recent shipments that contain hundreds of 8gb iPod touches, and pallets full of Cannon printers. This is so much more than we normally keep in stock.
...[we've] confirmed that Apple would ... be doing a back to school program involving free iPod touches (8gb), and a free printer ($100 value)..

Ive been waiting for this for about 6 months now. An iPod would be nice, but for me, just straight up cash off the purchase would be nice!

Sell it on Craigslist. That's what I did with the previous middle white Macbook last year. With my education discount, I got the Macbook & printer for $999.

I want a MacBook pro. I heard before that they were re-doing the line bringing in an economy version for less money. I'm guessing this release will be about the same time.

Giving iPod touches away is a great marketing technique. I would imagine they'll make up that money from the AppStore in no time!

You may have to haggle with a manager, but just be nice, I guarantee that they'll return it/rebuy it with a printer and an iPod free of charge.

Has anyone purchased through this before? How does apple check if you qualify (k-12, parent, student, etc)?
