iPod Classic (80G) Just restored now Crashes system
I have a older ipod classic which was just restore to factory setting. Now is not recognized by iTunes and crashes iTunes and the entire system requiring a hard reboot. Have updated to latest version of iTunes and have recently had my son add a newer iPod touch to system. He has no issues. Any suggestions on fix?

I believe it is your hard drive, usually when an iPod classic crashes my iTunes it is because of the hard drive. A much cheaper fix you could try is the hard drive flex cable. If that doesn't work then I am certain a new hard drive will fix it.

I recently had the same problem with my 80gb classic. It just stopped working. If I hooked it to iTunes it just locked everything up. I took it to apple store to replace for $129. Instead I walked out with a brand new 160gb classic for $59!!!! Loving all the extra room!
