IPOD noob/ipod classic 120GB

OK, so for whatever reason, I can not get iTunes to work on my laptop. I think it is an issue with quicktime. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both itues as well as quicktime, and still can not get the laptop to "see" my Classic. I have a nano that the laptop sees, but can not get itunes to run nor can I get the laptop to see my classic.

Any help folks?

Alternitive to itunes that is reccomended?

Is this Mac or PC. Try getting rid of adware
