FM Transmitters/chargers

Has anyone tried out any of the generic fm transmitters/chargers/cradles that you can get for cheap on ebay or sites like dealextreme.com? I wanted to get one but I heard a lot of horror stories about the generic car chargers shorting out ipods (and iphones). Does anyone know about these ones specifically? This is an example of what im talking about.
