i read this thread and it seems a lot of people are trying to get 2.0 on their phone and there is no reason to unless your a dev and know how to create apps with the sdk...2.0 is mostly out there for testing...you wont be able to get installer on and wont be able to ssh into ur phone either...there arent any apps for you anyway for 2.0 so why bother loading it on to ur phone...ur just wasting ur time unless your a dev with the sdk...do not use 2.0...just use 1.1.4 or below if you wanna have 3rd party apps.

i did restored to 2.0 and so not woth it.
was abble to install:
installer= keept crashing.
custumize= keept crashing
was abble to install ssh but it was to slugish, i installed by changing the sytemversion.plst to 1.1.3 throught ifuntastic the instaled ssh through independence. All of that was so not worth it because so fone is way to slow and you realy cant mod exept with xcode tool.

yes you are supposed to manually download the bootloader images from a different link. refer to iclarified.com's instructions for the link: http://iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=893

i'm asking about the error message in itunes because i've seen a few threads on people getting an error message in itunes, i believe it either started with 16xx or 6xxx. either way, that means itunes doesn't like the usb port you're using and you should switch. i hope that helps

yes..its not worth it..unless your a dev with the sdk and testing your apps DO NOT upgrade to 2.0

Actually I believe its not the dev team that is releasing it. Its their "friend" and he said it will be days to weeks. So I am looking at alternatives.

I have my iphone on 1.1.3 and it is working great, no problems. Is it worth doing a restore and using this right now? it would take a while to reinstall all my apps. so i wanted to make sure it would be worth it.

no, there's no reason to do this unless you were planning on restoring and rejailbreaking your phone, or if you're at 3.6BL and wish to upgrade to 4.6BL although that's not recommended unless you fully understand what you're doing

yes you're right. i don't think it will take weeks.

it'll probably be easier and safer for you to find a mac and run pwnage rather than trying to find an unofficial windows version of it

Yes... that would be expected for a beta firmware released to developers. It's meant for testing new features as well as debugging SDK generated apps. Pointless to install something that may crash (which it does quite often) and with out Installer support. I'm using a donated iPhone for testing my SDK app... that's all.

do i have to install BootNeuter and Unlock my baseboard if I want service on AT&T ?

the Help for the PwnageTool says:

"Unlock baseband - This will enable the unlocking of the baseband to all networks using a custom "software unlock" process. This should be used if you plan to use a SIM card from a carrier other than the one provided by your original iPhone carrier."

but i cannot get service on AT&T...

there were a few people with the same problem as you and solved it by installing bootneuter and unlocking their phones...

Unlocking and bootneutering fixed the no reception problem for me. Maybe down the road we won't have to unlock but for now that was the only way I could get service.

personally I don't care about much of this except having custom load images on the phone? I have a sweet Vista setup and I would love to see a Windows Icon show versus apple. Anyone have screenshots of doing this yet or a guide?
