for some reason i seem to be running into a few problems - at first i didn't have service... fixed that by unlocking the baseband. then i noticed that the Mail application was not working and i couldn't sync with iTunes. i fixed that by doing a complete restore and then repeating the PWNing process.

So now my mail app is working but for some reason my hotmail account is not there anymore but my .mac and Gmail accounts are so i guess that OK i can just add it back in. I guess the big problem now is i cannot sync my music, it has transfered a few albums but not the rest.... i'm really not sure why i seem the be having these problems it sounds like it works great for most people.

anyone have any ideas about the music syncing problem?

The downgrade from 4.6 to 3.9 isn't anything that needs to be "fixed". There is no reason to go back up to 4.6... ever. There is also no reason to restore your phone and re-jailbreak and unlock with pwnage if you're happy with your current set-up. You don't gain ANYTHING with pwnage except pineapple logo which you are STUCK with and have to re-load all your apps again and end up right back where you started.

Again... everyone should really just sit tight with their current setup until 1.2/2.0 is released or you already had plans to upgrade and rejailbreak anyway.

Day two of my pwnd (1.2/2.0) experience.

My iphone: OTB - 1.1.4/4.6 - 8gig - week 80 (i think)

I mainly wanted to really see if this iphone 2.0 with exchange capabilities works in our company's business environment.

Quirks (mainly due to beta stage of the 2.0... I hope!):
Had to reboot the phone twice because of lockups.
Intermittent slowdowns (some freezing lasting 30 secs) in all areas of the phone.
All the apps worked that was included in the 2.0 beta. Again, just minor lockups.

Experienced several times user lockouts on my Active Directory due to excessive retries by the iphone to log in with exchange server. (beta)

I got "**Orphaned mailbox..." in my inbox when connectivity with exchange server is lost. (sucks bad since I cant read the content when that happens) When the connection is restored, the mail is all back.

My voicemail recording from our voip tel system - which are wav files are working great. They are left as email which has the wav as attachments. I can now play them back!

Calendar system works somewhat but I didn't know if the events that I edited and saved was truly on the exchange server. A little color dot appears to indicate which mail acct it was posted to, but that doesn't mean anything since checking back on my calendar/outlook the event was not even there. After a couple of minutes i did see that it was on outlook. Cool. I just wished there was a button to immediately sync, and return a success or failure. From outlook to iphone, syncing does occur but i had to use the refresh button on the iphone mail app to get the current calendar updates.

There's a 'new mail' on/off feature in the sound area. I wish I can change the sound but it does work.

SMS txting works but when you jump from another app to respond to a message... again locks up and kicks out to the home screen. Afterward, seems to work fine.

International supports 18 languages so far. This means that your icons doesn't have to be labeled in english. Keyboard support for most of the 18 is supplied.

Overall, I think that it will be worth waiting for when the bugs and freezes are knocked out.

Thanks dev team for the update abilities.

Apple... well... you have my money already. What else can I say?

Except for the fact that if you take it in and apple sees that your originally 4.6BL phone now has 3.9 there goes your warranty... It was worth it for the piece of mind. Also, pwnage is reversible, and the pineapple is completely optional. I believe you can unpwn your bootloader by restoring with a unmodified apple firmware in itunes...

2.0 works great. Love the google map tracking feature. The tracking feature is the biggest upgrade of the firmware. I have not noticed any problems with the loading speeds. Trying to work on a custom boot screen now.

Well imagine pwnage to 1.1.4... bootneuter.. and upgrade to 1.2 (official) and unlock and Installer should still be in tact.

Someone please confirm or deny these allegations
well not really cuz I still had to use 112jb thing, the pre-requisite was to have octo-prep ... I guess this ok2prep package was just a set of commands that made it so that some os files don't get updated They were still just learning bak then.. now they have a broader understanding of wut their doin, so we get this more advanced tools.. Take unlockin 4 ex ( it has literally become child's play for them).. All u gotta do is to look for some bits of info in da bb , look 4 "x" pattern then look @ the last 4 bits of that code n change them all 2 "zero" n u got ursel an unlocked bb .. jb is diff tho as every fw vr is diff.. u get the idea.. Now idk wut they do when they jb the fons os...wut files do they replace?

The only reason im gon use pwned when it comes out for windows is cuz of the ability to load up cuztom boot logos...(as i read u'll end up where u started with pwned, yup i read all the 20 sometn pages too ) i've been waitin for that for so long.. Now the question is how the **** do i creat my own images ? i heard they were encrypted with some "8900 decrypter" or w.e for a mac... Now on windows man.. Somebody make an app that save images with the *.img2 extention.. shouldnt b 2 hard

Edit: i found a tool

UPDATE for Legit AT&T iPhone Users:

read over at hackint0sh that if you are using a legit AT&T iPhone, then you can pwn your iPhone without adding BootNeuter (or anything else). If you uncheck all the options (except if you want the custom pics of course) the PwnageTool will jailbreak and add Installer.app to your iPhone.

Hope this helps!

Note: I didnt see this in this thread already so if its in here, sorry for the re-post

As Soon as possible, it would be nice if someone would post a guide on how to customize the 'Custom Firmware' given to us by the PwnageTool. Boot Image, DFU Image, System Images etc. Please A.S.A.P.
