if you restore using itunes, everything you did with PWnage, will be Erase. So you can, and you need to redo everything againg.

i'm not sure if this was directed at me, but i needed to restore because caterpillar screwed up my phone. i figured rather than using ziphone, i'd try this out instead.

1. will work with T-Mobile if I upgrade to 4.6 BL
2. will work SMS, EDGE, Youtube, Bluetooth, Mail without any fix
3. what is Neutral Bootloader

i used the new method but as per the instructions on pg 3 of the guide iTunes did not detect the phone in recovery mode it was already sim unlocked.???? with jobs cartoon on it .. i had to put it in recovery mode to cont further... ha!! it still shows my old data..
i am not too sure its functioning well what do i do??

put it back into recovery mode after your phone boots and before you restore with the custom firmware

Did it last nite..It hung up when I first tried to restore the ipsw created. Retried the restore and it completed fine. When I plugged it into iTunes on the PC it prompted me to do a restore from a saved image...I thought oh crap I'll lose the Pwnage and have to redo it. But lo and behold after the restore...Pwnage was still there. Everything is working perfectly.

Got mine working after several attempts. All the problems being mentioned seem pretty common. Aft the phone being pwned, it restarts back up normal and not in recovery mode to install the custom firmware. I had to manually put it back in recovery mode to continue. As soon as the cutom firmware is loaded, itunes picks up my phone and I did a restore to get my contacts,etc.. back in. But when iTunes has it picked up, istead of saying my name for the phone, it says "untilted playlist". Anyone kno how to rename the phone or did I do something wrong? My signal is also lower as well. Before I would average 4 bars, not I get 3.

Follow this steps.

1 - open Pwnage

2- get the ipsw file get one that has not been Customize.

3- Select the file

4- ipwnag your iphone, Make sure 1-itunes is not up, and your iphone is on DFU, mode.

5- now ipwnage the ipsw file and select all the options you want, after both process are done just leave your phone in Restore mode, open itunes, control click restore, select the ipsw file you just customized.

That is it.

I have successfully pwned my phone. Just a quick question. I will wait until 2.0 (1.2) comes out officially before I update. When it does come out do I have to re pwn my phone again or because it is pwned it will I be able to update to 1.2 without any problems?

Anyone having problems with Summerboard working? After I reinstalled it, whenever I change themes they dont show up. I have to manually turn off the phone and turn it back on for it to show..

no you do not. as long as your phone is working fine, you do not need to restore and rejailbreak again. pwnage will just get you to where you already are now

In theory you should just be able to hit upgrade in itunes and it should remain jailbroken and unlocked with all subsequent firmware releases.

I Installed V2.0 Firmware on my phone without any issues once pwned. But could not installer.app working.

So i think i will wait for the official release or until they can get installer working on 2.0 properly
