When I download the bootloaders, from where it's said to download from, they come back as a mpeg file with the .rar extension. I cannot figure out how to open them. I guess anyone has not had this problem because I have not seen any mention of it.

RAR is like a zip file. Do a search for decompression utilities that open zip and rar files.

04-04-2008, 09:37 AM #304The RAR is an archive - use Winrar or similiar program to extract it out. the BIN's for the 3.9 and 4.6 bl are in one of the sub folders. When I download the bootloaders, from where it's said to download from, they come back as a mpeg file with the .rar extension.
Edit: madrich beat me to it

Restoring after first pwning/customfirmware...
So now I'm wondering...
when I go to restore my iphone again, using the custom firmware pkge... should i use the one i created the first time around? Or, create another one, but this time leave out the bootneuter/unlock option because its already been done once before. Is my logic right?
If you run the same custom firmware again... bootneuter will auto run on restore and you dont need to do it again, right?

While having 2.0 is nifty, its a HUGE downgrade at the moment from other firmwares. A few weeks from now I expect I'll try this out.

if you restore using itunes, everything you did with PWnage, will be Erase. So you can, and you need to redo everything againg.
