^^ Ok thanks. Do you think it is the lockdownd file which doesnt make the phone part work? I thought the lockdownd file was only for activation.

Ive gone back to 1.02 already so yet thinking if I should go back and re-do everything once again...

these were my steps:

Virginze your iPhone Last Step here: http://modmyi.com/wiki/index.php/Dow...1_to_1.0.2_OSX

Acitvate, SSH, SFTP and Jailbreak 1.0.2

Pre 1.1.1 (needs open iTunes)

activate 1.1.1

jailbreak if needed

ssh it

post 1.1.1

Copy via sftp Installer 1.1.1 to Iphone

Patch Springboard (Copy springpatch from Material to: /usr/bin and then SSH into it and type cd /usr/bin hit enter and then type ./springpatch)

restart your iphone

install these apps (they were still installed on mine )

BSD Subsystem
TermVT100

Copy the files from Step 10 & 11 of this Guide http://modmyi.com/wiki/index.php/Dow...1_to_1.0.2_OSX via SFTP on your Phone

Then in the VT100 start at step 12 from this Guide: http://modmyi.com/wiki/index.php/Dow...1_to_1.0.2_OSX

use anysim (maybe need to reboot to see it...)

Copy lockdownd to /usr/libexec folder

Restart and all works fine

for international Support Change M68AP.plist in /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/

Worked perfectly, apart from iTunes syncing. Anyone know why both my Mac and PC won't now see my iPhone?

Ok, got everything working as well as oscar8x mentioned but no more itunes syncing. I think its something to do with the lockdownd file....

mv /var/root/Media.old /var/root/Media

Yes, Itīs due lockdownd file.

If you canīt sync with Itunes you canīt reflash your phone. If you wanna restore you need to replace the lockdownd with another (i.e. lockdownd from the original 1.1.1 version)

I testet this lockdown file and 3 other's... without any changes on my iPhone... it's allways the same...!

what exactly did you do? In which state are you at the Moment?

Kidkrops, Itīs the way which worked to me. I only knows this way.

IMPORTANT: Made a backup of your lockdownd file after overwriting it. If you donīt maybe you canīt to restore it.

Now, I want to give it a shot again. But can anyone tell me if there is an unlock counter in iPhone. If the unlock counter reaches a certain number, then the iPhone will completely lockdown. Is there such a thing?

and it always takes me to the screen were it says
plz insert correct sim card

I was again able to upgrade my 1.0.2 iPhone to 1.1.1 and unlock it. I used my previously described method on one phone and used the new iNdependence method on another. Both took several attempt but both ended up working, I still seem to have a slightly degraded cell signal strength now... but we will see. The other issue is I am still getting the dreaded IMEI number incorrect error... it will still sync if I remove the sim first tho... so not to bad of a situation...
