Activation solution
To all those having problems with the activation part of the process:
YOU MUST SWAP YOUR (USELESS) AT&T SIM FOR THE ONE YOU INTEND TO USE BEFORE YOU RUN IASIGN
I was beating my head against a brick wall with this one for a while!

Back up v1.1.1's lockdownd:
cp /usr/libexec/lockdownd /var/root/lockdownd.1.1.1
Now overwrite the iPhone's copy with your old v1.0.2 copy:
cp /var/root/lockdownd.1.0.2 /usr/libexec/lockdownd
And upload the certificate included in this distribution:
scp iPhoneActivation.pem root@[IPHONE IP]:/System/Library/Lockdown/

i followed the steps to "relock" my phone by reflashing the baseband, and now my phone get 0499999... IMEI whenever i stick my att sim in.
Yes, I unlocked with anysim even though i was an att subscriber just for experimentation purposes.
DO NOT mess with your baseband if you have used anysim to unlock, PERIOD. There should be (more specific) disclaimers on these howtos, dangerous stuff.

Just run anysim again and your phone will work fine with the correct imei.
And for your disclaimer read the first post.
You may not want to try this until the method has been perfected. If you don't know what you're doing don't Try this. It works, but if you mess up at all you will corrupt the baseband beyond repair. If you are patient you can wait until The Dev Team updates anysim to work on the 1.1.1 or another 1.1.1 app is created

hey..
is it ok to activate the iphone v. 1.1.1 using the windows method after having jailbroken and installing ssh and bsd with the mac.
i can not activate with the mac method as i do not know how to execute the following steps:
Back up v1.1.1's lockdownd:
cp /usr/libexec/lockdownd /var/root/lockdownd.1.1.1
Now overwrite the iPhone's copy with your old v1.0.2 copy:
cp /var/root/lockdownd.1.0.2 /usr/libexec/lockdownd
And upload the certificate included in this distribution:
scp iPhoneActivation.pem root@[IPHONE IP]:/System/Library/Lockdown/
Now:
killall lockdownd
thanks for your help

My problem with the disclaimer is that it reads like "if you follow this procedure correctly and to the letter and do not screw up, it should work". It should read more like "if you try this method, your phone may be screwed EVEN if you followed the instructions correctly (ie, if you've previously unlocked via a freely available solution)"
But thats neither here nor there, I took a risk and rightly got burned, completely my fault.
I kind of thought that running anysim again would get me working, but I think i'll wait for a real solution from iphone dev team instead of further possibly corrupting my baseband.

So far so good.
I managed to go through all steps... but 1
Now i'm on 1.1.1 and activated. But the baseband firmware is 4.x
I wanna downgrade the baseband to 3.14 but ieraser gives me a hard time.
It sais, waiting for data.
Does anybody know what to do next ?
I would like to have an 1.1.1. unlocked

Its been days and there is still no noobie guide!
By the time we get a one click jailbreak/unlock method it'll be 1.1.2 time!myRepoSpace.com - Easily create your own Cydia Repo.

It's not that hard to follow the guide... I've virginized my phone, upgraded to 1.1.1, jailbroke, installed SSH an BSD, but the activation part is what kills it for me, the guide is vague is where to execute those commands and such. I've repeated the process 4 times and I just can't activate the thing with those set of instructions...

A simple question: Is it possible to use this guide to upgrade an unlocked (iUnlock) iphone from 1.0.2 to 1.1.1 and then just downgrade the baseband to have a 1.1.1 unlocked phone.
Has anyone had any success?
