Hi arcsbite

See step 5 in the instructions provided - 'Activating with a Non-ATT Sim'

This is why I was confused.. but I assume it's just not 'unlocked' as stated..

looks like a Terminal command.
not sure what you'd use if you were on windows...command prompt is it?

anybody happen to have a list of third party apps that currently work on 1.1.1? i know a few of you have said some of them don't work, which ones?

good point.
a little contradicting with the This does NOT allow you to unlock a 1.1.1 iPhone in big red letters underneath lol
I think it will activate the phone (remove the "please connect to iTunes and activate" screen regardless of what sim you use but it won't unlock the phone for Voice/sms use.

although, again, I could be off the mark. we need an official all inclusive statement about what this process does and does not do

"Then low into your iPhone and run it:

$ springpatch"

What is "low" into iPhone?

I got it. SSH into the phone
cd /usr/bin
./springpatch

same question. This seems to be the hardest part of the jailbreak. And i have alot of experience with the 1.0.2 file system and writing files and such.

the problem is you use them at your own risk...many are unstable with v1.1.1. bc in order to get them to work you have to do a little bit of hacking

with the firmware

I will give this a try tomorrow and If everything works out Ill attempt at a youtube vid if someone doesnt beat me to it.. good luck everyone and if you are at the least bit unsure.. dont attempt.. be patient. itll get easier with time.

yes as long as you install ssh
