that wouldnt help you. To make custom ipsw files work you need to run the pwnage tool once on your iphone

wow. simply amazing.
i have some serious doubts about getting the 1.2b with this though. surely, as someone had to pay their way into the dev program that firmware has something from apple, a little name or whatever like they do for their itunes+ tracks, and will be able to trace it back. regardless, i'll be doing this the moment it becomes available with or without 1.2b.
question: will this only support restores or is it safe to assume we will be able to do updates and keep what's on our phones already as well? if the custom firmware builder could copy the installed apps and what not and make that a part of the custom fw that would be awesome.Last edited by ajustcircle; 03-30-2008 at 01:43 AM. Great news, but I'm sceptical how long it will last for.
Surely a new version of iTunes will be released that checks security on ipsw files before flashing them. This will be seen as a security flaw by Apple, and they will do all they can to patch it.

Haha, they won't distribute 1.2 at all. We have to wait till Apple releases it...
Lol, probably just make a pwnage for iTunes. Lol. Theres a way around everything, you just gotta find it.

I'll give it a week or 2, before I try on my usable iphone.
And see if there are some issues that arise in the mean time
Why do it, when the phone works (1.1.4)?
I Don't want risk screwing up something. I'll just test using my (second) bricked iphone
Where can you download 1.2b?

Is it only me who's seen the problem with changing the Apple logo? It means that Apple will immediatly know to deny service to those with "Pwned" iPhones. Seems a bit dumb to me. The moment you turn it on, they know that you've jailbroken it. I don't think it's all that good an idea...
Anyone interested in a trade? See here:
