I tried a restore and itunes said that it could not be restored.
error -18.
DAMN IT. For now i have a true paperweight
I am now restoring in recovery mode to see what will happen.
Lets just hope I don't learn the hard way for us all.
Also... It warns that the latest firmware will be installed while doing a restore this way. This is how Apple plans to roll out the 1.1.2 firmware would be my guess.
I STRONGLY advise everyone who isn't a developer or something to hold off. I jumped the gun at every chance and now I'm losing everything on my phone (if I'm lucky)
Okay here is an update for anyone following my nightmare.
I was able to put the phone in recovery mode and do a restore to a previous date (4 days ago) I have all of my files 100% the same and working up until 4 days ago.
There is a way back so I guess if you want to play around you can always do that, but I dont recommend this as I would have had to activate the phone and all that if I did not have the backup.Last edited by darkrom; 10-10-2007 at 05:46 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

MY OPINION!
EVERYONE NEEDS TO SLOW DOWN!!
Being first isnt always best.
- Being first to buy an iPhone... You got to pay $200 more than those who waited.
- Being first to upgrade meant your phone is a brick or bye bye apps.
-Being first to jailbreak has meant some have heavier bricks than apple could even deliver.
Just give it a couple days people!!!! Let the people who know what they are doing work out the bugs. You won't lose any "cool phone" points if you wait. (however you will lose those points if you brick your phone because you need to be first so damn bad)
Now... I'm off to go do stuff with my 102 because it still does EVERYTHING
