    thanks

Okay this may sound like a noob question, because it probably is.

I have a 8G 1.1.2 oob Jailbroken, I want to get it to 1.1.4 Jailbroken, do I restore my phone then upgrade to 1.1.4?

Or do I just leave everything and upgrade to 1.1.4, and Jailbreak?

I really just need all the steps in order on how to do it.
It's only impossible if you quit.

it's not working for me unfortunately....both on mac os and windows

mac: it just quited after i pressed "free xx phone"
windows: it says "unable to create payload folder..please retry once, if the problem persist, please restart liberty" so i did what i was told to...but no luck...!!

    any ideas...thanks

Since your phone has been previously jailbroken with a different method it is in your best interests to RESTORE to 1.1.4 and then use iLiberty. After you plug your phone into iTunes be sure and set it up as a NEW phone, not from a back-up image.

XLiberty (for OSX) has an option to go from 3.9FB back to 4.6 but there is no way to unlock any baseband version after 4.02 with a 4.6 bootloader so you'd be stuck without the "locate me" feature and anything else that goes along with an updated baseband.

"it still can't do what it's supposed to do" doesn't give me or anyone else enough information to diagnose your problem. I would recommend doing a complete RESTORE to 1.1.4.. then connect to iTunes and then run iLiberty again.

what i did to an originally jailbroken, activated, unlocked iphone in chronological order:

    1. complete restore to 1.1.4 on mac os
    2. tried to use ilibertyX to "jailbreak+activate+unlock"---> no luck..just quited sayin nothing
    3. on windows, tried iliberty+ to "jailbreak+act+unlock"---> unable to create payload folder
    3. post on this thread(see 4 threads above)
    4. on windows, tried iliberty+ to "jailbreak" only---> cannot boot into recovery mode
    5. post again
    6. on windows, ziphoned it "do it all"..done in 4 minutes---->much happier
6.5 on windows, in itunes set up as a new phone, sync contacts...etc
    7. on windows, iliberty to try to install payload--->ABLE to boot the phone into recovery mode but iliberty said it was UNABLE to do so
    8. ibrickr to get the phone out of recovery mode

Hmm.. the only thing i see missing from the steps is to connect the phone to iTunes and let it recognize the phone first then open and run iLiberty which will kill iTunes/helper automatically.

after using the dev's method to upgrade to 1.1.3, no matter how many times i restored the phone and which version i restored it to...the wifi just disconnects when i hit the home button to get to the springboard....

any idea how i can fix this?

this isnt working for me on windows just leaves me at an apple logo and keeps making the disconnect/reconnect sound, very annoying back to ziphone i guess

stuck at apple logo, itunes will not recognize my phone, cannot boot to restore mode, very mad at this program right now

    Hi rohit_baba,

I tried that line command in Term-vt100 twice and the mail still gives the same error message.

Would it be any different if I went in through putty and winscp as you suggested?

    Thanks again!

Next release will have a payload with options for apps to install.
One of them will be Cydia.

Gave me the spinning wheel of death on the first (and second) time I tried it, Ziphone never did. It is supposed to install programs for you, but I never got that far

After the first SWOD did you restore and set the phone up as NEW in iTunes? Just asking b/c if not restoring from a back-up image and then re-jailbreaking with a different method can cause this and other issues.

It worked great the first time on my OTB 1.1.3 touch. At first it tried to put my iPod into restore mode and it didn't work. FWIW, I chose then chose the option to manually restore the iPod by holding the home button and then connecting the iPod to the computer (all while holding the home button). It was smooth sailing from there. Thanks modmyi and whoever made the app!
