This is great, but it really does suck that this isn't a more worthwhile update... There's pretty much nothing different.


When the big update comes out (i hope with the release of leopard), now THATs the one that's gotta be cracked.

If they have the ability to get inside the OS and have the ability execute code via the TIFF exploit, it would seem all that is necessary is to find a viable elevation of privleges exploit to be able to change permissions.

Man, I wish I knew more about UNIX.

we need a complete custom firmware... With devhook like the psp... It'd be nice to have a root os that can munipulate firmware in a virtual environment

Ahh, but it fixes the problem with deleted messages not actually being deleted on an Exchange server, which is huge for me. I can't wait for 1.1.1 to be cracked for this alone...

Well technically this is jailbreak since it refers to breaking out of the chroot jail.

although it is not FULL jailbreak. but I had always wondered why they called it jailbreak then when I saw the ln -s / Media it was like OH that's why.

I have been trying to use 'getfile' to pull RDISK.JPG which is a symlink of /dev/rdisk0 but now my phone is bricked. I can downgrade to 1.0.2 but it fails to upgrade to 1.1.1 or even restore and upgrade with error 1016.

I think maybe I f'd up my copy of iTunes. if anyone has a copy of 7.4.1(2) installer I would love to have it. I will check the downloads now.
